Adam S. Miller

Adam Miller is one of New York’s leading criminal defense attorneys and civil litigators. Since entering private practice in 2011 after a distinguished career at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, Adam has represented hundreds of individuals in a wide range of criminal and regulatory matters in both state and federal court, including white collar investigations and prosecutions relating to securities fraud, commercial bribery, bid rigging, collusion in the financial markets, political corruption, and sanctions evasion, as well as general criminal defense matters including homicide, sexual assault, assault, weapons possession, and DWI. Adam has represented his clients, which include executives, financial professionals, attorneys, compliance officers, physicians, and professors, at every stage of criminal proceedings, from the start of a criminal investigation through trial.

In his civil litigation practice, Adam represents financial institutions, private equity firms, charities, educational institutions, hedge fund managers, entrepreneurs and others in a variety of civil actions ranging from breach of contract to employment discrimination to civil assault.  Adam is also frequently brought into matters at the trial stage to serve as lead trial counsel.

In addition to his criminal defense and civil litigation practices, Adam also represents whistleblowers and crime victims in select matters.

During his tenure at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, Adam prosecuted hundreds of violent crime cases, including sex crimes and homicide. After several years in the Office’s general trial division, Adam was promoted to Deputy Bureau Chief of the Major Economic Crimes Bureau. In that position, Adam supervised approximately twenty-five experienced attorneys in all areas of white collar prosecution.

Adam is Board Chair of the Criminal Advocacy Committee at the New York City Bar Association and is Board President of Hebrew Language Academy 2, a public charter school in Brooklyn, New York.

Adam has taught trial advocacy at law schools throughout the United States. He served as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at St. John’s University School of Law and taught advanced trial advocacy at Emory University School of Law.
